  American Bittersweet - Celastrus scandens - American native vine that once covered most of the fencerows of the midwest.  Vigorous growing and adaptable to many different soil types and climates.  Spring blooms are creamy white, maturing into orange berries that hold on and retain their color well into the winter.  Used to make wreaths and dried decorations.  Hardy to -30F (-34.4C);  spreads to 20ft.
