Jewelweed - Impatiens biflora - Annual -  This North American woodland plant had distinctive orange-yellow pendulous flowers and is an affective treatment for poison ivy.  Juice from the leaves can be spread over an area of skin with a poison ivy rash to greatly reduce the affect of the toxins in poison ivy and soothe the itch.  It can also be added to soaps to produce a good ivy-fighting wash.  The plant very often can be found growing in the same area as poison ivy, and prefers a moist shady location with rich soil.  Partial to full shade; plant height: 3-4ft.
