Orange Bird of Paradise (Crane flower, Geel Piesang) Strelitzia reginae -  This beautiful African native has orange/yellow petaled blooms in the shape of a bird and large leaves that resemble a banana.  Much smaller and more refined than the South American cousin, Strelitzia nicolai, it makes a lovely border or accent plant for warmer climates or an attractive indoor potted plant in cooler ones.  Hardy to 30F (-6.6C); height: 30ft.
