Melissa -  Melissa officinalis - Perennial - Medicinal - The Greek name Melissa translates as honey bee, and apt name for this sweet lemony smelling herb.  A haven for bees and butterflies, the plant bears small white flowers that bloom from June to frost.  Credited with the same healing properties as honey and royal jelly, the leaves make a good companion to iced tea and can be brewed to make a soothing tea that calms and relieves colds and sore throats.  Long touted as an herb for children.  Full sun or partial shade; plant height: 18-24in.
